To be nominated and run for office, a GOYAn must be a paid the dues and be in good standing membership for the past year. Following are the duties of the officers:
President:
- The president will preside over all GOYA meetings and shall perform all other duties as prescribed by GOYA.
- The president shall be the official representative of the GOYA, or shall designate another GOYAn in his/her place.
- The president shall enforce the constitution and by-laws of the GOYA.
- The president shall be an ex-officio member of all committees, but shall not be any chairperson of any standing committee.
Vice-President:
- The vice-president shall assist the President.
- In the absence of the president, the vice-president shall assume presidential duties.
- The vice-president will be chairperson of the Winter Event.
Recording Secretary:
- The recording secretary shall maintain a permanent written record of the minutes af all GOYA meetings.
- The recording secretary shall not be chairperson of any standing committee.
- The recording secretary shall perform all other duties as described by GOYA.
Corresponding Secretaries (2):
- The corresponding secretaries shall be equally responsible for notifying any GOYAns necessary whether by mail or phone, prior to each meeting if they do not have e-mail.
- The corresponding secretaries shall prepare GOYA news information for the church bulletin every month.
- The corresponding secretaries shall be equally responsible for all required correspondence to be assembled and mailed to GOYAns for any events as necessary throughout the year.
- The corresponding secretaries shall not be chairpersons of any standing committee.
Treasurer:
- The treasurer shall receive money and issue receipts for same.
- The treasurer shall present a written report for each regular meeting, a copy of which will go to the recording secretary to be made part of the permanent written minutes of the meeting.
- The treasurer shall issue and sign checks from the checking account.
- The treasurer shall not be chairperson of any standing committee.
Historian:
- The historian shall take pictures of GOYA events and display them on the bulletin board.
- The historian shall maintain an album of GOYA activities.
